| “Empowerment
Evaluation” is the use of evaluation
concepts, techniques and findings to foster improvement
and self-determination. It supports the belief
that critical self-evaluation is a core part of
good program planning, management and service delivery.
This training will accomplish the following learning
objectives:
• To enhance the trainee’s
understanding of “Empowerment Evaluation” as
one of several participatory approaches to evaluation
in the field of social welfare.
• To build competency
in the application of the philosophy and methodology
of Empowerment Evaluation in administrative, service
delivery, and clinical evaluation situations.
• To build competency
in the use of logic models as one component of
Empowerment Evaluation.
• To provide trainees
with exemplars and tools that will guide them in
their future use of Empowerment Evaluation in their
respective work sites.
